OUR STORY

We started in the autumn of 2018, when we all met while studying music at the Viljandi Culture Academy. At first we just played for fun, but the gigs started rolling in fast. By 2022 there were so many that we decided it was time to take the band seriously. We made logos, a website, new sets, proper stage outfits and a proper show, and drew up a plan to make the band great and the parties we play even better. And we've got a master plan: never stop working on the band. The setlist, the sound, the lights, the whole show and every cool new thing a proper party needs! 😜

The band is called Kassett because we play the music of your childhood and ours, straight off those old banger cassettes and CDs gathering dust at the back of a cupboard. We blow the dust off together, put on our dancing shoes and belt out those legendary tunes at the top of our lungs! Let's be honest, you've known every word for years.

We mostly focus on the 90s to the 2010s. There's loads of great new music too, and we play it, but our real favourite is a proper nostalgia banger that brings together people of all ages. Why does everyone love Katy Perry, Black Eyed Peas and Teenage Dirtbag? Probably because it's just that good.

We've now spent 8 years playing as a wedding band, dance band and concert band at every kind of event all over Estonia, and we really, really love international and all-English parties too.

WHAT OUR PARTY IS LIKE

We build the set so the dance floor never empties. Some hits we play as medleys, several songs back to back in one go, so the recognition rush never lets up. Send us up to 3 song requests in advance and we'll learn them. Sometimes we take requests on the spot too, especially when the song is extra good.

Whether your party is a wedding, a corporate event, company summer days or a birthday, our sound and lighting engineers always come along with all the gear. They make sure everything on site runs smoothly and looks spectacular. We also use fog machines so the light show really comes through. Your venue doesn't allow fog? No problem: our drummer Kalev is a firefighter, so he and the venue will find a way! 😉

Want a first dance from your wedding band? A saxophone, keys, or your best friend singing a couple of songs with the band? Some other special wish? All doable! What we care about most is that people are still talking about your party years from now.

Carlos Liiv

[Vocals and guitar]

A Saaremaa island boy with a fantastic voice, great taste in music and a brilliant sense of humour. At 18, Carlos faced a big choice: is football better than... music? He chose wisely. You might know him from the TV shows "Estonian Idol" (Eesti otsib superstaari) and "I Can See Your Voice".

Hugo Kähri

[Lead guitar and backing vocals]

Lead guitarist, a.k.a. the Maestro. His blistering solos and infectious energy on stage leave nobody cold. Need a band, a new parquet floor or some tacos? This guy does it all.

Oskar Ilves

[5-string bass and backing vocals]

Playing a bass solo while dancing like John Travolta and singing backing vocals with perfect pitch and feeling? No problem for this man. Oskar is a true bass-slinging dance machine!

Kalev Välk

[Drums and backing vocals]

A powerhouse with a rock-solid beat. Drums alone weren't enough for him, so he adds his voice to every big moment too. And if the dance floor gets too hot, don't worry: Kalev is a professional firefighter.

Otto-Georg Kirsi

[Sound engineer and producer]

Otto is the one who turns our dance troupe into an actual band. Without him, all you'd hear from the stage is the tapping of our shoes. He sings and plays too, so who knows, one day he might join us on stage!

Jaan Endrik Kirsi

The baby of the band, who loves the fog machine and puts on a wonderful light show at every event! On top of that he's a fantastic drummer, singer, guitarist and bass player, and of course simply a great guy!
